About the book

About the book

Leah Brown is a repair specialist. She works with institutions after trust has been broken, and with the people left to live with what happened.

After the ruins is her first book. It makes the argument for repair, from Isaiah 61, for communities of faith that have come to ruins.

It is for people who are still inside the wreckage, unsure whether repair is possible, and for those who have already walked away wondering if it ever was.

This book is for survivors who are still waiting for accountability. It is for the church community reeling from the struggles of the past five years as they continue to pick up the pieces after devastation. It is written for the congregant sitting alongside survivors, faithful and uncertain, wanting to help and not knowing how. And it is a witness to the unbeliever who is watching, waiting for the church that is being renewed and transformed to demonstrate that it knows the difference between the counterfeit cheap reconciliation offers and the real thing.
